Students should be interested in working 2-3 hours a day, mornings or afternoons, one day a week and, occasionally 4 hours on a Saturday for a special event.  No previous work experience is necessary; however, student volunteers need to be dependable and willing to work diligently.  Contact Mrs. Schmal in the Guidance Office if you are interested.<br><br>ATTENTION COLLEGE BOUND SENIORS!  The staff at Steele Canyon would like to provide YOU with a scholarship for college! Just come to the Guidance office and pick up a staff scholarship application form from Ms. Roberts or Ms. Stanley and return it by Friday, May 18th, along with a copy of the college acceptance letter for the school you plan to attend in the Fall and you may be the one to receive hundreds of dollars in scholarship money. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to help pay for college, so come by the Guidance office today!<br><br>SCHS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS:  This year the Steele Canyon High School Foundation is pleased to offer four $500 scholarships for the Class of 2012. These scholarships are available to any student who plans on attending college or a technical-trade school next year. The deadline to submit a completed application is Friday, May 18 at 3:00 PM. 						<description><![CDATA[STUDENT BULLETIN<br><br>THURSDAY, MAY 17, 2012       <br><br>   (*indicates new or changed item)<br>- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -<br>GENERAL INFORMATION<br><br>*A/B SCHEDULE:  Today is an “A” day.<br><br>*TODAY’S MENU:  Little Caesar Personal Pan Pizza.<br><br>YES, THERE IS SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY!  Contrary to whatever rumors you may have heard there are classes this Friday, May 18th.  The Memorial Day Student Recess begins on Friday, May 25th; that’s a week from this Friday, not this Friday.  See you all in class this Friday, May 18th!<br><br>NO BLOCK ONE CLASS? We will be conducting AP testing through Thursday, May 17th, in room D102/109.  In support of those students who are testing, students who do not have a Block 1 class will not be allowed in the front or back area of the D Building before the start of their Block 2 class.  They must go to the front of the school until their class starts.   <br><br>ATTENTION ALL AP STUDENTS:  Remember to show up at least 20 minutes early to your assigned testing room.  You must bring a photo ID, pen, pencils and, if necessary, a graphing calculator.    If you are unsure of where your test is taking place, please go to the Assistant Principals’ office.  We will also post testing areas near your classrooms.  Please note that the AP test on Wednesday in study hall has been moved to the Staff Lounge.  Once the test starts, you will not be allowed to take the test.  Please arrive early and review your student handout given to you at the pre-administration session.  Good effort to you all.<br><br>START SMART PROGRAM SCHEDULE:  A “Start Smart” class is available at Granite Hills High School on Thursday, May 17th at 6:30 PM in the theater; no pre-registration is required.  The student and at least one parent should be there at 6:15 to sign-in. Contrary to whatever rumors you may have heard there are classes this Friday, May 18th.  The Memorial Day Student Recess begins on Friday, May 25th; that’s a week from this Friday, not this Friday. To prepare Steele Canyon seniors for the placement process, Steele Canyon is providing a workshop called "Move Up" in Mr. Semik's room, K106, on Wednesday, May 9 at 9:15. The aim of the presentation is to emphasize the high stakes nature of the placement test, and to share information about the content of the placement test and the placement process in general.
