Athletic Clearance & Sports Eligibility

If you are playing a Winter sport such as Basketball, Soccer, Wrestling, or Girls Water Polo eligibility to continue playing will be determined when Quarter 2 final grades get posted on December 21.  Students who have earned an overall GPA of 2.0 or better will be eligible to continue with fall sports. Students who's GPA has drop below an overall 2.0 will not be allowed to continue in Winter sports until progress grades for Quarter 3 are posted and improve.

Senior Exhibition Preparation

Seniors will be presenting their binder and powerpoint for their Senior Exhibition soon. Here are some tips to help you get started preparing over the holiday break:

  • Binders must be completed and signed off on before seniors will be scheduled for a presentation time in March.
  • All seniors must be prepared to present their completed binder to a teacher on Wednesday morning, January 20. Seniors will be assigned a teacher and specific time slot to bring their binder so keep an eye out for an email about that.
  • Instructions about what is required in the binder and teachers who can help you with it before submission are listed on the Senior Exhibition web site which can be found in the Students tab on the SCHS home page.
  • Ms. Achenbach in the library and Ms. Koller in room E205 can assist you before submission as well.
  • Senior Exhibition presentations will take place during the first and second week of March. Please work on your binder over the break, get it completed and signed off on in January, then start preparing for your presentation.

College Application Reminders

Here are some important reminders about your college application process:

  • Look at your email! Colleges will communicate important information to you through email, like things that are missing on your application, verification of classes taken, reminders to send additional documents, deadlines to submit your intent to register.
  • Send your SAT and/or ACT test scores as soon as possible! If you are waiting for test scores to come, as soon as they do login to you accounts on Collegeboard or ACT and send your scores to your colleges. If you have applied to CSU schools, only send your scores to CSU Mentor (#3594) and all CSU schools will get them. If you applied to any UC schools, only send your scores to one UC school and they can all access them.
  • If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the UC Application Center by email or postal mail. Your correspondence must include your name, UC Application ID number and your signature (if you mail a letter), and will be available to  all the campuses to which you applied. Email: ucinfo@applyUCsupport.net
  • If you need to cancel an application go to this link for instructions: http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/files/campus-instructions-to-withdraw-or-cancel-application.pdf
  • Keep your Family Connection list of colleges you are applying to updated and accurate. If you are not applying to certain colleges, delete them from your list, if you have applied to colleges, update that info in the results column.
  • Final transcripts will be sent to all colleges that students have indicated on Family Connection they will be attending.
