The PSAT will be administered at Steele Canyon this year for sophomores and juniors on Wednesday, October 24th, 8:00 am – 12:30 pm in the Gym.  Though Wednesday is normally a late start day, students will still be required to check-in at the gym by 7:30 am. Students attendance records will not be negatively affected by taking the test. Students who ride the bus will still be able to ride the bus home after the test. The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a great tool for students considering college. The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills and writing skills. Steele Canyon High School recommends that students take the PSAT/NMSQT in order to help prepare for the SAT, which they will take for the first time in spring of their junior year.

All juniors will be offered the test at no cost. The cost for sophomores to take the PSAT is $18.00 and it can be purchased on the TotalRegistration website at starting on Monday, August 13th. The deadline for sophomores to register for the PSAT is Friday, September 7th.
