Sports Rules and Policies

Student-athletes may not participate at another school in a sport not offered by our school, and our school and student-athletes are not an exception to this provision. Athletes who transfer to this school, after establishing athletic eligibility at a former school, may have limited eligibility only.

24 Hour Rule
Parents/Guardians of student athletes are not permitted to engage in any kind of dialog as it pertains to coaching decisions regarding their student athlete at any time on meet, match or game day. Violators of this rule may be suspended from future contests.

General Varsity Letting Policy
In order to receive a varsity letter, a student athlete must finish the season in that sport in “good standing”. Must have purchased an ASB card for the school year in which they are receiving their Athletic Letter.

Steele Canyon Academic Lettering Policy for Athletes
In order to receive an Academic Letter in Athletics from Steele Canyon High School the student – athlete must meet the following standards.
  • The student-athlete must be an eligible athlete at Steele Canyon High School.
  • The student-athlete must have a minimum 3.5 weighted GPA during the designated quarter for that sport.

Fall Sports
Must have a 3.5 weighted GPA or higher at the end of quarter one

Winter Sports
Must have a 3.5 weighted GPA or higher at the end of quarter two

Spring Sports
  • Must have a 3.5 weighted GPA or higher at the end of quarter three
  • Must have purchased an ASB card for the school year in which they are receiving their Academic Letter.
