Principal’s Welcome & Informational Presentation (Gym)

Mr. Hohimer will be welcoming the families with an informational presentation in the gym at 5:00 PM

New Cougar Pictures (Library)

Boyd Anderson Photography will be in the library to take class pictures for incoming freshman and new upperclassmen from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.  These are the pictures that will be used for student ID & yearbook. Appropriate school attire is required. Information regarding the purchase of prints will be sent the week of Spring Fling.

3:00 - 4:45 First come, first serve

5:15 - 5:30 A-D

5:30 - 5:45 E-H

5:45 - 6:00 I-L

6:00 - 6:15 M-P

6:15 - 6:30 Q-T

6:30 - 7:00 U-Z

Students who are unable to get their pictures taken at Spring Fling will have their picture taken after school starts in August.

Submit Registration Documents (Library)

Our wonderful secretarial staff will be at your service in the library from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM collecting the required registration documents and providing tech support for online registration.  Required documents include: (copies would be appreciated)

  • Birth Certificate

  • Proof of Residence (ie. Drivers License, Utility Bill, Rental Agreement, etc.)

  • Immunization Record

  • Official Transcripts (Incoming 10th, 11th & 12th Only)

Families that are unable to submit required registration documents at Spring Fling will be required to visit our office during regular business hours from June 11-29.  We will not be able to build a schedule for your child without these documents.

New Cougar Dinner (Quad)

Steele Canyon Athletic Boosters will be grilling up some delicious hot dogs for the event.  Every “New” student will receive a free meal that includes a hot dog, chips and a drink. Additional foot/beverage items are available for purchase from various clubs, Boosters and teams.  Food will be available beginning at the conclusion of the principal’s message.

Math & Spanish Placement Tests (Quad)

Spring Fling will provide the first opportunity to take the math and Spanish placement tests.  The tests begin at 3:00 PM. (Check in by 4:00.)

Math - (Freshman Only)

All incoming freshman students will need to take the math placement exam and it is expected to take approximately an hour to complete.

Spanish (Freshman Only)

Only for students interested in taking Spanish as a 9th grader and it is expected to take about 45 minutes to complete.

*Both tests do not have to be taken on the same day.  One or both of the tests can also be taken on Saturday, May 5 from 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM.

New Student Counseling Event (Theatre)

Our counseling and guidance team have been offering an informational counseling session for interested parents.  Our 9th grade counselor extraordinaire, Joe Schramm, will be meeting with these families at 3:30 in the theatre to discuss 9th grade class schedules, graduation requirements, A-G college requirements.  The meeting will last 45 minutes to an hour.
