Some short term goals for this club is to help students at SCHS feel like they have a safe space where they can share there struggles and have a strong support system. We plan to hold meetings every Tuesday during lunch with Mrs. LoPrell as our advisor, In room k116. Once this club is on a roll and has stable members we want to start talking about ways we can expand the club, such as writing cards to rehab centers or hospitals to show that we see them and how much they have gone through. We feel as this will help us practice with reaching out appropriately to those struggling and we will get to help outside of our built community. Some long term goals we have for this club are to be able to have our own day out of a spirit week during the school year to dress in green or a different chosen color to represent Mental Health Awareness, and to have our club be a very known and popular club.

Model UN is a club where students simulate the actual United Nations. Each student represents a different country and learns about international issues, such as wars, human rights, climate change, and more. Students will research their assigned countries for the first fifteen minutes of lunch, and prepare themselves for a mock debate during the last half of lunch, where students may work together to create resolutions, or debate the wrongs of the other student. We look towards helping students develop public speaking, leadership, research, teamwork, diplomacy skills, and more. The goals of our club is to start competing with other schools in national debates. However, in the start, we are looking toward gathering people, so that we can have mock debates during our club meeting times. Pen pal club's purpose is that all participants of this pen pal club, elementary school students and high school students, appreciate the time and effort they put into their letters and the gifts that come out of it. We are trying to build a brand new community where two completely different age groups, people who are going through such different events in life, find a safe space through their writing. We hope that our pen pal club members create a lasting positive impact on both themselves, and their pen pals. We look forward to seeing the pen pals grow connections over time and getting feedback on our club. This year, our goal for the pen pal club is to have enough members to pair up with at least a whole elementary school class which is around 25-30 students usually. Since this is the first year of the pen pal club, we hope that everything will run smoothly.

Our main goals are split up into 2 types, short term, and long term. Our short term goals and purpose are to spread awareness about the diversity, resilience, and the problem solving skills of life, while highlighting how human actions impact it and the steps we can take in our own back yard to help and preserve it for future generations. We hope to be able to provide community service opportunities for members to clean up our local nature reserves, contributing to our overarching purpose of helping our local ecosystems. Our long term goal is to set up a community garden that will provide the school with a more natural food source and allow SCHS students that participate in keeping it up to take some food home.
