Hey Cougars,

Would you like to see your teachers kiss pigs and raise money for a good cause? Then go to the finance office to donate towards a staff member you would like to see kiss a pig. All proceeds will go to Pink Ribbon Club, who will donate the money to Breast Cancer.

Halloween vibes are in full swing! Let the spooky adventures begin!

On-Campus Sports Physicals!

All athletes need a current and valid sports physical to play sports. We are working with Physician Sports Physicals to offer on-campus physicals for ONE DAY ONLY.

Here are the details:
🗓️ Date: November 5
⏰ Time: 4pm-5pm (we may start early if kids are waiting)
💵 Cost: $35 cash or venmo
📍 Location: Line up outside the boys locker room by the weight room - First come, First Served

Steele Regiment brought the heat this weekend at the North County Invitational Field Tournament, taking 1st place in Band and 1st place in Percussion!

This victory is especially exciting as our group is competing in a higher division for the first time in seven years. Every rehearsal, rep, and long Saturday has led to this incredible milestone. The journey now continues toward state championship qualification, where only the top 12 bands in California will earn a spot to compete.

We’re so proud of our students, staff, and parent volunteers for their dedication and drive. Let’s keep pushing, Steele Regiment — the sun is still shining on Sol Fatalis! ☀️🔥

Picture this: you and your friends taking photos in beautiful Balboa Park, walking into the historic Prado filled with Parisian vibes—photo backdrops, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, drinks, dancing, photo booths with prints, and a few surprise moments to make it a night you’ll never forget.

To make it easier for everyone to plan and budget for this unforgettable night, tickets are on sale early—and the lowest price lasts for one full month!

On Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 7:00 P.M. the orchestras of Helix High School and Steele Canyon High School will join together for Music Bridges the Gap, a unique concert celebrating connection through the power of music. The performance will take place at Steele Canyon High School. Tickets are just $15 and can be purchased at the door or reserved seating online here. Don’t miss this chance to experience two outstanding orchestras uniting on one stage for a night of artistry and community.

Congratulations to the Steele Regiment on an outstanding performance this past Friday, which also marked our first recruitment event of the season with Hillsdale Middle School! It was such a joy to have the middle school students join us, performing the Star-Spangled Banner for the very first time and playing Land of 1000 Dances alongside our band during half time. The energy and excitement were contagious, and our hope is that this experience inspires many of the middle schoolers to continue their musical journey by joining Steele Regiment in the future. What an incredible way to kick off both our performance season and our recruitment efforts!

Congratulations to your Cougar Football team who are now 6-0 and undefeated to start the season! They defeated Dorsey 28-0. It was an awesome middle school band night with about 50 Hillsdale middle students joining our Steele Regiment at half time. Rah rah Cougars!

Congratulations to your Cougar Baseball Club who hosted CETYS de Tijuana in our first ever Cali-Baja sports diplomacy baseball game. The game was well attended by students and staff. Special thanks to Charles Tyler, Dr. Parr, Dr. Cohen, Coach Dirksen, The Padres, and all the people who made this game possible. Tonight all the players will attend a Padres game together!

Steele Canyon High School Hosts US State Department, "Cali-Baja," Friendly Baseball Game Between Cougar Baseball Club and CETYS de Tijuana

Spring Valley, CA – Tuesday 9/23/25

Steele Canyon High School is proud to announce a special baseball game between a team from the United States - Cougar Baseball Club - and a team from Mexico - CETYS de Tijuana. This community event aims to "use sports as a platform to champion foreign policy priorities." In attendance will be the US Consul General from Tijuana, Christopher Teal, along with the Padres Swinging Friar, dignitaries, teachers, and students. According to the US Department of State's website, "We believe that if we can sweat it out on the field or the court, then we can see eye-to-eye with one another." The event will take place at Steele Canyon High School, inviting students, families, and community members to participate in a friendly baseball game to show everyone the power of sport to unite communities.

“We’re excited to bring our community together for a cause that means so much,” said Dr. Scott Parr, CEO/Principal. “This game honors the families from both sides of the border in a manner that shows good sportsmanship is a universal language.” After the friendly baseball game all players will attend a Padres game together.

Steele Canyon High School Earns Recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best High Schools Rankings

Spring Valley, CA – Steele Canyon High School has once again earned national recognition, placing among the top public high schools in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best High Schools rankings.

Steele Canyon High was ranked #1,903 nationally, #260 in California, and an impressive #26 in the San Diego Metro Area out of nearly 18,000 schools evaluated. In fact, Steele Canyon placed higher than any other school in the Grossmont Union High School District. The school achieved an overall score of 89.37/100, highlighting its strong academic performance and commitment to student success.

With a 99% graduation rate, Steele Canyon far exceeds state and national averages. Students also demonstrate strong academic achievement, with 45% of students participating in Advanced Placement® courses and 35% successfully passing at least one AP® exam.
