SCHS Student Withdrawal Process

Dear Parent/Legal Guardian,

We understand this is an important transition in a student's life, and we want to make this transition as convenient as possible for you and your family. Please follow the next three steps for a smooth and faster checkout.

It's important to note that only parent(s) or legal guardians can check out the student. Your presence is crucial for the official checkout.

Step 1 - Gather the following information:

➢ Student’s last day at SCHS (date)

➢ Reason for leaving

➢ School name and address where the student will be attending

Step 2 - Appointment and Items to be returned

➢ Call 619-660-3530 or email aespinoza@schscougars.org to schedule a withdrawal appointment. The registrar's office hours for checkout are from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.

➢ Ask for a list of the books, uniforms, equipment, fines, fees, etc., that must be returned or paid in full during your checkout appointment.  This is part of the Official checkout process, and missing items will delay the procedure.

Step 3 - At your Scheduled Appointment:

➢ Parent/legal guardian must bring a valid picture ID

➢ Return all books, uniforms, equipment, etc. (must be in the same condition as when distributed to avoid fines)

➢ All fines, fees, and balances must be fully settled to receive an official transcript.

*The student and parent will receive an unofficial transcript at the time of withdrawal to take to the new high school for enrollment.

Be aware that checking out without an appointment may require multiple trips to Steele Canyon High School to complete the process.

Please contact Ana Espinoza, Registrar, if you have any questions.
