ASB Student Government
Year-long course that requires an application, two recommendations, and an interview to enroll.
Available for Grades 10-12
TO APPLY:

2. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. (Application Link)
3. PROVIDE 2 STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS

Tip: Keep your interaction professional and thank them for their recommendation.
4. INTERVIEW*
If you are selected for an interview, you will hear back via email by Wednesday, 4/8, asking you to sign up for an interview date. Interviews will take place the week of 4/13 (after Spring Break).
Note: you will not be considered for an interview unless we receive BOTH an application and two recommendations.

Community & Culture

ABOUT Community & Culture Leadership
There are many ways to be a leader, and in this course, you’ll have the chance to work with your classmates to create and maintain a positive campus environment in which students feel safe and welcome, have a sense of belonging and purpose, and a space to grow. Together, we’ll build a culture where we all can grow and thrive.
In this class, you will:

Discover more about yourself as a leader and learn skills to manage your emotions and relationships.

Build social awareness and learn how to advocate for your peers.
-
Help strengthen school spirit by supporting ASB, clubs, the Wellness Center, and organizing events like action weeks, connection weeks, and lunchtime activities.

Take part in fundraising efforts to support student activities and events.
This course is all about making a difference and helping our school community shine!

Service

About Service Leadership

About ASB
ASB Leadership has two goals:

Maintain a positive school culture through academic and social events in which students feel safe and welcome, have a sense of belonging and purpose, and a space to grow.

Develop leadership skills. This includes mastery of the following core leadership skills: communication, planning/organization, problem-solving, constructive feedback/evaluation, writing critically, reflectively, and persuasively; creativity, professionalism, confidence/public speaking, initiative, persistence, empathy, and service.
General Info

ASB is set up into different commissions. Each of our commissions have a different focus on how they serve the student body. In order for ASB to function at it's best, we welcome a diverse array of students with different talents and skill sets.

Our 7 commissions include Spirit, Special Events, Technology, Fundraising & Finance, CCB (Community & Culture Building), VAPAS (Visual, Performing Arts, & Sports) & Publicity.

ASB is a year-long class during 3rd block. Those who join ASB are expected to remain in the class for the whole year.
