Sun Bucks

 

What is Sun Bucks?

Sun Bucks is the California Summer EBT Program that provides income eligible families with $40 a month for food assistance, for the months of June, July, and August (for a total of $120).

Who qualifies for Sun Bucks?

• You automatically qualify if:

  • You received CalFresh, CalWORKS, or in most cases, Medi-Cal, during the 2024-25 school year.

    • Families who received Medi-Cal, but have an income above 185% the poverty level do not qualify.

  • You are experiencing homelessness, living in foster care or are part of a migrant family.

• If you do not automatically qualify, you can download and fill out the Universal Benefits Application (UBA), then return it to your child’s grade level secretary.
