What is Sun Bucks?
Sun Bucks is the California Summer EBT Program that provides income eligible families with $40 a month for food assistance, for the months of June, July, and August (for a total of $120).

Who qualifies for Sun Bucks?

You automatically qualify if:

You received CalFresh, CalWORKS, or in most cases, Medi-Cal, during the 2024-25 school year.

Families who received Medi-Cal, but have an income above 185% the poverty level do not qualify.

You are experiencing homelessness, living in foster care or are part of a migrant family.

If you do not automatically qualify via one of the above methods, you can download and fill out the Universal Benefits Application (UBA), then return it to your child’s grade level secretary. The school will then process the application to see if you qualify.
